 Two Special Events

In November the Friends will have two opportunitys to view the exhibition 'Richard Wilson- Life and Legacy' outside normal Gallery openings.

On the 6th November a joint event arranged by Alison Cousins will bring together RCA friends and members of the Conwy Valley Civic Society.

On the 19th November the friends will be joined by the Aberconwy Historical Society.

On both occasions Jeremy Yates RCA, who this year delivered the WEA St Davids Day lecture on Richard Wilson, will talk about the private collection to which many of the paintings belong, and of course about the artist himself.

Richard Wilson Study Day with Peter Lord RCA

An Artistic Inheritance: The legacy of the Welsh landscape painter Richard Wilson.

Study Day 10am-2pm Friday 20th November 2009

An in depth study will be made of the Welsh landscape painter Richard Wilson's life and work, it's critical reception, it's influence on other painters and on cultural attitudes to natural landscapes.

Aimed at adults (16+)

Peter Lord RCA is an art historian, who specialises in the study of the visual culture of Wales. He has written a richly illustrated scholarly catalogue to accompany the exhibition. Peter Lord is fully bilingual in Welsh and English.

Cost: £15 or £5 for Students

Keith Bowen RCA, Ronnie Cape

A fascintinating talk by the artist Keith Bowen RCA and the author Keith Richardson about their new collaboration 'Ivver Sen' a delightful book about the characters and landscapes of Cumbria beutifully illustrated with photographs and Keith Bowen's evocative paintings.
